Hobbit Bones Found
It is always fun when something in real life combines with fantasy like in our movies. So when a few hobbit bones were found, I found it interesting ti imagine what these folks were like.

When they say humans come in all shapes and sizes, they are not kidding. So the story about finding a hobbit bone indicated in the NY Times by Carl Zimmer dated August 6, 2024 entitled: ‘Scientists Find Arm Bone of Ancient ‘Hobbit’ Human’ is quite fascinating to me.
The Journal Nature Communications published this story on this date referring to the hobbit or Homo floresiensis which is one of the smallest homo sapiens ever found. How these humans evolved is under extreme debate.
This species was uncovered on a small isle nestled between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Scientist indicate the species is about ‘toddler’ size. But this is not the first sighting.
Originally, 20 years back, on the Indonesian island of Flores in the Liang Bua cave bones and teeth were unearthed. This finding led them to speculate a height of 3 1/2 feet. They also figured the brain was a third of the size of what ours is today.
The brain size made scientists wonder since the theory in the modern world is the bigger, the more clever we are. But it turns out, that small brain was quite capable. All of this is speculative since many theories exist about where the original species emerged.
The fact that all species originated in Africa at some point and time seems to be a given. But why this particular small variety would end up where he did and become smaller defies logic.
I look forward to more evidence about this and other findings since we are all connected and what we learn can help us survive. But I wonder if these hobbits had the same abilities like in Lord of The Rings where they were able to use common sense and caution to win the day? Now there is a hobbit I want to meet.
