It seems this variant has affected many in Europe and the dictate from professionals is this should become the dominant variety within a few months. While the numbers are hard to track since many do not let authorities know, the ones that have been counted amount to well over 12,000
A few cases have been recognized in the US. But there does not appear to be any real concern as of yet. But that could soon be a different story.
This variant is a combination of KS.1.1 and KP.3.3 and like other forms circulating, are related to the Omicron variant. The cases in Europe started in Germany around June of this year.
The UK and Denmark also have reported some cases as has Poland. Those keeping track say it is now in 29 countries and 24 American states.
The theory behind how this strain developed is that one person could have gotten the two strains at the same time allowing it to evolve faster. And since it is highly transmissible, that means it spread with ease.
Like many other varieties, we are talking about having congestion with a cough and other cold symptoms like a runny nose and shivers brought about by a fever. The same lack of taste or smell applies as does a feeling like you can’t get your breath.
There are other symptoms as well but these are not especially different from any other version out there. Also, it is not as serious as the original variant so most people should be able to handle it.
