Those forever chemicals in this story that we talk about are still an issue since it is now apparent that they can be found in our air (which includes dust), our water, our food, even our blood and of course, many products.
If you have carpets, you are walking on the stuff. If you order out, it is in the packaging including coffee cups. Clothing that has the added plus of being waterproof has this hidden secret and if you like cooking with pans that do not stick, beware.
This is the one most of us are aware of, the non-stick pans. But even though those deadly chemicals were banned years ago, new ones are being used and no one is monitoring those.
Of course, when it is in your water, we are really in trouble. The story goes that there are no large concentrations there but that doesn’t matter when even small quantities can build up in our bodies because they take a long time to get eliminated.
Even boiling the water will not help. A water filter will offer some relief but even Brita only gets a little over 60%. Check to make sure your indicates it has these capabilities.
The other one that I became aware of is the cleaning. Since I do not buy cleaning products, I am covered. But if you do, maybe it is time to consider using good old vinegar and a little essential oil to do your counter wipe up and dusting.
And this one is for you gals who wear makeup. I gave that up years ago since all kinds of chemicals are in cosmetics and are being absorbed into the skin. But if you wear lipstick, mascara, foundation or eye shadow, you are willingly adding this toxic substance to your chemical overload.
Again I cannot emphasize enough that going organic in most of what we consume and reverting to many of the older ways like using wool for warmth is the way to go. Add to that growing your own food so you have control over chemicals is something you should consider.
