Students Appear To Be Accepting ell Phone Ban in Canada

Since Implementing such an idea last year in the school system, students generally are accepting the idea their cell phones are not immediately at hand. In fact, they kids are now talking to each other again rather than staring at screens.

Teachers are somewhat relieved since parents are supportive and they see more of an effort from students to pay attention. There are of course some who have not taken the restrictions so well.

But as we know, when the masses of kids accept something, being left out never goes well. That means each person wants to do what is popular so they do not stand out and seem odd to the rest of the group. That works favourably here.

Teachers do indicate there are a few sneaky types who will always oppose rules and they exist here too. What is sad though, is what they think they are missing like You Tube shorts that really are not informative or educational in any manner.

It is a time filler, something to make you laugh but has no lasting benefit like information remaining with the student that proves helpful to the viewer. Somehow though this has become the favourite pastime.

The few that do venture into breaking the rules are eventually caught and get their phones back after class. The situation will likely get more serious though now that students have had time to adjust to this expectation.

Of course since classes in different provinces had leverage to follow the indications as they liked, this policy looks different depending on where you live. But the message is clear, students and teachers are benefiting.
