The Teen With A Heart-Centred Mission

It is refreshing to see a teen take needs so seriously and to give of himself so selflessly. Perhaps this story will prove inspirational.

Whenever I see a young person who is driven to help others and puts their abilities to the test, I want to acknowledge their efforts and give them the due they deserve.

But first things first, I must recognize the original story which ran on the Smithsonian Magazine website May 30, 2025 by Ramsha Waseem and was entitled: ‘This 14-Year-Old Built An App That Detects Heart Diseases In Seconds’.

The article tells us about Siddarth Nandyala, a teen who resides in Texas and is besotted by technology and AI. This keen interest has led him to seek the creation of a device that can help people with heart issues.

Last year he spent over 8 months dutifully working on his computer and came up with a smartphone app anyone can use to detect heart issues. Presently it is restricted to use by professionals since certain procedures must be used.

But eventually he wants this device called Circadian AI to be available for anyone. He is also not limiting his ambitions to this one area. He feels this would also work for other parts of the body like the lungs.

Previous to this discovery he has several credits to his name. One is a prosthetic arm he created for $150 in India in 2022. Then he went on to form a firm called Stem It which sells tech kits to kids for subjects like science, tech, engineering and math.

There is much more to learn about this innovative fellow and I encourage you to read the full story by Waseem. But what impresses me is not just his abilities but his actual concern for people who need such devices to help them find health issues before they cause serious harm.

That kind of caring attitude strikes me as rare these days. But he also took his passion for tech and made it into something that could support him. We need more kids like that who are willing to go the full nine yards. Maybe he will inspire a new generation. You certainly inspired me.
