Why Our Instincts Are Not Relied Upon As In Animals

I Talk about how animals need to act quickly and that is why they need instincts. Humans like to ruminate over decisions and start with emotions.

Our four-footed and feathered critters rely on instinct because their very lives depend upon it. Ritual and reproduction could not be possible if this was not in play. So those instincts are actually built right into genetic material.

Since we have complex brains that take time to develop and depend on our parents during early development, we are not dealing with the same kind of dangers animals must contend with.

So we have time to learn to walk and talk, both important aspects of development. We do not reside in a dangerous outside world where we might become another animal’s lunch.

Also, the world in the wilderness is understood as being ‘natural’ and not complex like the one man has created. So each action a human takes is considered and all starts with emotion.

Animals make decisions instinctively so that they can utilize quick actions to get away from danger. People consider what they will do and often have to ponder possibilities through the consequences of emotional situations or reactions.

We watch others to learn behaviours or what to expect when certain emotions are read on human faces. Animals also can do this but do not rely so heavily on it since that takes close contact and the circumstances must be right.

Mankind can also use instinct to aid in making a decision but often that is not relied upon unless it is something understood through previous generations in our family. So it is a learned activity.

We feel superior to animals in our intellectual abilities. But the truth is they have what they need. What we fail to comprehend is their understanding is usually better if not one with ours but for different reasons.
